The Your High Resting Heart Rate

Your heart rate might feel constant, but it’s really not. It changes depending upon what you are doing. Your heart rate will change when you stand up, sit down, lie down, or when you feel relaxed, or stressed. The heart rate can literally change within a second.

Your resting heart rate is a measure of health; it is one of the vital signs your doctor will check at every appointment. The resting heart rate is
how fast your heart beats when you are simply sitting down, doing nothing to increase it. Sometimes the resting heart rate can be very high or rather low due to heart rhythm problems or other issues.

High Resting Heart Rate Normal

For an adult, a normal resting heart rate is anything between 60 and 100 beats per minute. For some athletes, normal resting heart rate might be even lower than 60. That’s because a better trained body works more efficiently, and the heart rate reflects that.

However, the heart rate can go up when you are dealing with stress, suffering from illness, right after exercise, when you are taking certain medications, and sometimes, simply for no apparent reason. An occasional high resting heart rate is fine, but anything that is consistently over 100 beats per minute is something to worry about.

Risks Factors and Harms

What is really frightening is that a high resting heart rate can affect those who seem to be perfectly healthy. Some risk factors can be eliminated, such as lack of exercise or smoking. However, many of the individuals who appear perfectly healthy might have a genetic component that means the electrical activity in the heart is not working properly, thus leading to the high resting heart rate. In that case, medication might be required in order to bring the rate down and keep the person’s heart as

healthy as possible

Studies have proven that earlier death might come to those who have a high resting heart rate. A serious study in Norway looked at 29,000 people who were in good health and evaluated their heart rate. Those who had a heart rate of 70 or below were healthier ten years later; in fact, those with a heart rate higher were 90% more likely to die during those years. The deaths rose with the higher resting heart rates; those who had anything over 85 were the most likely to perish earlier.

What Are the Possible Causes of Tiny Red Dots on Skin

You may develop tiny red dots on your skin for many different reasons. Some of these underlying causes may be quite serious, while others may not raise any concern. It is, however, important to understand when you should go see your doctor and seek medical treatment. Keep reading to learn more.

1. Red Mole" or Cherry Angiomas
Cherry angiomas are quite common and can appear on any area of your body. Also known as senile angiomas, they usually affect people over 30 years of age. They look red because of broken blood vessels inside them.

While the exact cause of these skin growths is not clear, many experts believe it has something to do with genetics. Some people are more likely to get them compared to others. They are more likely to appear in pregnancy and are even linked to climate and exposure to chemicals. You do not usually need to worry about these skin growths unless you notice a change in their shape, size, or color. Talk to your doctor if they bleed often.

2. Petechiae

If you notice pinpoint, round spots on your skin, they could be petechiae. These growths develop as a result of bleeding, and this is the reason why they may look brown, red, or purple. They look more like a rash and appear in clusters. The color remains the same even when you press on them. And they may appear on your eyelids or on the inner surface of your mouth.

Causes: While petechiae are quite common, they may indicate different conditions. The most common causes include allergic reaction, local injury, autoimmune diseases, trauma, and viral infections that impair clotting. Certain medical treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation, as well as leukemia, idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, and other bone marrow malignancies can also cause petechiae to appear. Drugs such as aspiring, heparin, or cortisone may also cause petechiae. They are more common in newborns and become prominent after violent vomiting.

Treatment: Antibiotics are prescribed in case of an infection causing petechiae formation and appearance. If these petechiea spots are the consequence of injuries to the blood capillaries, then apply ice packs or cold compressions over the affected region. It is suggested that before applying an ice, a paper towel should be put between your skin and the ice pack. This will prevent damage to the skin surface.

3. Keratosis Pilaris
Keratosis pilaris (KP) also causes small red spots on your skin. This genetic disorder affects hair follicles of the skin and often manifests as rough, small folliculocentric keratotic papules. They are also described as chicken skin, chicken bumps, or goose bumps and usually appear on the outer-upper highs and arms.

The condition usually gets better in summer months and becomes worse in winter when skin becomes dry. KP is self-limited and usually improves with age. There is no treatment available for it, but you may use moisturizing lotions and creams to make things feel better.

4. Leukocytoclastic Vasculitis
Leukocytoclastic vasculitis or commonly known as hypersensitivity vasculitis refers to the inflammation of small blood vessels. Leukocytoclastic is a term used to refer to the debris of immune cells or neutrophils within the walls of blood vessels. The disease may only affect your skin or spread to other organs of the body, including central nervous system, gastrointestinal tract, heart, lungs, and the kidneys.

Symptoms: When it affects your skin, you notice damaged blood vessels that become leaky. It results in hemorrhage that appears as small areas of purple-red, raised lesions or tiny red dots on skin also called palpable purpura. These lesions are most commonly found on the legs. They generally do not cause any symptom, but you may sometimes feel pain and itching. More severe vessel inflammation may result in large ulcerated blisters that can be quite painful. They may make you deal with other issues, including vomiting, abdominal pain, muscle aches, fever, blood in the urine, weakness, numbness, and cough.

Treatment: Your doctor will consider your medical history before determining the best treatment option for leukocytoclastic vasculitis. If you experienced a single occurrence of tiny red dots on skin, this is an acute case. The lesion diminishes in this case after removing drug, infection, or food that may be causing the problem. In recurrent or chronic cases, your doctor will consider several other factors to select a treatment option. They may ask for tests to help identify an underlying systemic disease. They may also give corticosteroids and immunosuppressive agents in case the disease has spread to your internal organs. Medications such as dapsone and colchicines may help treat chronic cases.

5. Rheumatic Fever

http://lifestylehealth-bd.blogspot.com/Not seeking treatment for strep throat in a timely manner may result in rheumatic fever. It usually

As it is a complication of strep throat, you should go for a strep test if your child has certain specific symptoms, such as sore throat with swollen lymph nodes and tiny red dots on skin. They may also have trouble swallowing with thick, blood discharge from nose.

affects children from 5 and 15 years of age. Older children and adults may also contract the fever. It is not a serious illness and when left untreated, it may cause serious issues including permanent damage to your heart, stroke, and death.

Other Natural Ways To Help Thin Blood

Besides foods that thin blood, there are other things you can do to keep your blood thin naturally. Here are some good tips:
Sunshine. Sunshine has been found to maximize circulation and to keep the blood thin. It is believed to be helpful because sunshine gives us vitamin D when we expose the skin to the sun.
Exercise. People who exercise too much run the risk of having vitamin K levels that are too low. It has been found in elite women athletes that they have vitamin K deficiencies. So exercise regularly but not too much. Avoid foods that thicken the blood. There are some foods that cause the blood to thicken. These include kale, spinach, collard greens, parsley, cauliflower, asparagus, leeks, and celery. You shouldn't eat these foods if you want to have thin blood.

Blood thinners are often prescribed by doctors as treatment for or prevention in people who have high blood pressure or other risk factors for stroke or heart disease. The prescription medication choices involve taking Plavix or Coumadin (warfarin). They are also used to protect a person from pulmonary thrombosis or pulmonary embolus. These are medical conditions that result from having a blood clot in the deep veins of the calf that goes up to the lung, also called a deep vein thrombosis. The prescription medications help prevent the formation of blood clots so that thrombosis does not occur. There are, unfortunately, several dangerous side effects from taking these blood thinners, so some people have begun to look for foods that thin blood without having to take pills.

Foods Types That Thin Blood
There are several kinds of foods out there that act as blood thinners for the body. If you can incorporate these foods into your diet, you can prevent blood clots and keep the blood vessels open. You should know, however, that you can cause your blood to become overly thin so that you bruise easily and have cuts that do not stop healing. Thus foods that thin blood need to be carefully chosen as part of your diet, and you should talk to the doctor before changing your diet.

1. Salicylates
Foods with salicylates in them will block the effectiveness of vitamin K that plays an important role in blood clotting. Aspirin is perhaps the one that is the best known for this effect; however, there are foods and spices that also contain salicylates. These can be incorporated into the diet and will effectively thin the blood by acting against vitamin K.

Some foods that are high in salicylates are fruits, particularly those that have been dried; various kinds of nuts; and spices, including thyme, ginger, dill, oregano, cayenne pepper, cinnamon, peppermint, licorice, paprika, and turmeric.

2. Vitamin E
Foods containing vitamin E are antagonistic to vitamin K. Many foods are preserved using vitamin E, so you should read food labels with care. Vitamin E supplements are also recommended to people who have fibrocystic breast disease and extreme night sweats. If you take certain vitamin E complex supplements, you can get all of the eight sources of vitamin E available. The tablets absorb better if you have had your gallbladder taken out.
The best sources of vitamin E are spinach and broccoli, but you should not take them because of high amounts of vitamin K in them. Good sources of vitamin E rich foods that thin blood are sunflower seeds, almonds, sunflower oil, red bell peppers, kiwi, and wheat germ oil.

3. Omega-3 Fatty Acids
Foods high in omega 3 fatty acids have recently been found to be good food to take in because they decrease blood clotting and lessen cholesterol levels. You can easily incorporate many of these foods as part of a healthy diet. They are also available to be taken as a supplement.
Foods you can take that have a good amount of omega 3 fatty acids in them include anchovies, albacore tuna, salmon, mackerel, herring, and lake trout.

4. Antibiotic Foods

There are some foods that are naturally antibioticsknown to destroy bacteria in the intestine that are responsible for making vitamin K. Even small quantities of these foods can cause bleeding in people who are already deficient in vitamin K.

The main foods that have natural antibiotic properties are onions and garlic. This means you should not eat many Italian foods because they often have a lot of garlic in them.

5. Bromelain
Bromelain is an enzyme that helps thin the blood. As one of the foods that thin blood, foods with bromelain in them also have antibiotic and anti-inflammatory abilities. Bromelain works better when taken alongside ginger and turmeric.

The main foods that contain bromelain are pineapples and pineapple juice. They can be taken alone or spiced up with ginger and turmeric for better blood thinner effect.

6. Water
Believe it or not, water is a great blood thinner. If the body is dehydrated, the blood becomes thicker and the platelets are more likely to clump together, forming a clot.
Experts recommend that you consume about 0.5 ounces of water for every pound your weigh per day to help thin the blood and prevent excessive blood clotting.

7. Alcohol/Wine
It has long been known that alcohol use reduces the activation and aggregation of platelets. Alcoholics, it While just about any kind of alcohol has the potential to reduce vitamin K levels, red wine is found to be the most potent. Red wine contains polyphenols and proanthocyanadins as part of their pigment that keeps the
blood from clotting prematurely. However, alcohol does some damage to the liver, so take it with care.
turns out, have been found to be deficient in vitamin K and infants born to alcoholic mothers often have vitamin K deficiency.

The Women Calories Burned Running

If you are a runner and are trying to lose weight, sometimes running more isn’t the answer. The calories burned running is about eight and one-half calorie per minute. This is good but as you run more, your body begins to conserve calories. So, at first you will lose some weight. Then you begin to plateau and your weight loss will level off. Running too much for too long can also cause strain on your body and you may even get
burned out with your favorite workout.

http://lifestylehealth-bd.blogspot.com/

You just need to figure out what increases the intensity and gives you better results. This article will help you find a way to increase calories burned running with some helpful tips.
Calories Burned When Running

As mentioned before, generally you burn 8.5 calories per minute when running. Running speed is a big factor with calorie burn. The other factors include height, weight, whether you are male or female, and your age. Men tend to burn less calories than women and if you weight more, you will burn more calories. There are also factors that come from where you choose to run.
Treadmill vs. Open Road

When you run on a treadmill there is a difference from running outside. Running outside gives you a slightly higher calorie burn. So if you feel like you need to run inside due to weather or safety, put your treadmill at 1% incline to burn the same amount of calories. This is actually to replace the “air resistance” you get when running outside even on flat surfaces. You have to have your treadmill set at about 6.5 mph for this trick to work.

Men vs. Women: Calories Burned Running
Here are the calories burnt for both men and women at different weight, running for an hour’s time at 6.5 mph.
Again the actual calories burnt by you depend on many factors. You can also calculate the calories burned when running at other speeds such as 6 mph (10 minutes per mile) here and 7.5 mph (8 minutes per mile) here.

How to Run to Burn More Calories (or Lose More Fat)
You can greatly increase the calories you burn when running and lose more weight if you know the tricks. Here are some ways to do this and make your run more exciting. Try adding these helpful techniques:

1. Interval Runs
You can work in some intervals with running just like any other workout. This will be short bursts of speed in between running at a slower speed. When you run at the same speed your body is essentially on “cruise control.” This is more efficient because it takes less energy and work. If you speed things up a little, your body has to work harder and use more energy so it begins to convert stores to keep up.
The good thing about interval running is you will be able to run for less time and it’s easier on your ankles and knees. Another benefit of interval running is just like a benefit of interval training in the gym, your metabolism keeps going after you stop. Studies have shown that people who do interval training continue to burn calories for a whole 24 hours after the workout.

How to do interval runs: Keep your body guessing by switching the amount of time every time you run. Warm up and do 10 minutes of jogging, then slow down for 10 minutes to a walking pace, then run for 5 minutes. Switch this routine every few days and mix it up.

2. Quick Bursts
You can use your treadmill, flat road outside or a running track. Do your warm ups and then break into a hard run that makes you huff and puff for 15 seconds. Slow down to jog/walk and recover for 60 seconds then repeat. Do this six times a run for the first few weeks. Work your way up to 10 times over the next eight weeks, then build up to 12 intervals.

3. Strength Training
Strength training added to your running routine can really turn things up a notch. This will help you run faster and harder. Add in strength increasing exercises at least 2 to 3 days every week to build up your endurance and get some good leg strength. This will really kick up your weight loss and fast. Doing strength exercises right before you run increases the amount of carbs you burn when you run. You only need about 20 minutes of pre-run strength training to burn up glycogen stores, then you will be burning straight fat during your run.

Here are some strength training exercises to work into your week. Do 3 sets of 12 to 15 repetitions two times every week. Make sure you rest 30 seconds in between each set. Grab two 5 to 10 pound dumbbells and a band:
Leg Raises – Lie flat on your back and place your arms at your sides with your palms facing up. Keep legs straight and raise them. Slowly lower them back down, but remember to push your spine to the floor as you do this exercise. Repeat.
Marching Hip Raise – Lie flat on your back and keep your knees bent with your feet flat on the floor. Raise your hips and make a straight line from the knees to shoulders. Lift one knee to the chest, but don’t drop the hips. Lower the knee then repeat with the other side

Band Walk – Use a band around your ankles and stand with feet a hips width apart. Step to one side with one foot. Bring your feet together and repeat with other side. Now, as you do this step forward with each for 15 steps and then back stretching the band as you step.

4. Do Incline Runs
It will really increase your burn if you hit the hills once in a while. For every degree you increase the incline you‘ll get 10 percent more calories burned when running. Increasing to a 5 percent grade will burn 50 percent more calories.

Set your treadmill to 5 percent or get outside to a nice small hill. Run up hard and fast for 10 seconds, then jog/walk 60 seconds. Repeat 4 to 8 times for the first few weeks then.

Eating Before Morning Workout

Many people prefer not to eat anything in the morning before exercising. This is not a good idea because eating before workout will provide you with energy to complete your session with full power. You ate last night and it has been several hours since you have not eaten anything again. Your body will not have enough energy to perform optimally. Therefore, it is important to eat before morning workout.

Your body is like a car and it needs fuel to run smoothly. When you eat food, your body uses glucose to make glycogen that acts as a type of carbohydrate and fuels your muscles and body. It is important to have enough glycogen to perform your workout with intensity. Keep reading to learn what to eat before morning workout to provide your body with enough energy.
Eating Before Morning Workout: Goal-Specific

People who exercise in the morning do it with an idea to complete their training session with full energy because their body has had enough rest through the night. If you do not eat anything before you exercise in the morning, you are more likely to feel sluggish and drag through your routine.

Generally, for keeping-fit level of exercise, your pre-workout snack should be consisting mainly of carbohydrates with a bit of protein, accounting for less than 200 calories in total. Also, the food you choose should be easy to digest, such as a banana with yogurt.
In order to get an idea about what to eat before morning workout, you need to first establish your goal of exercising. For that there are two basic categories: weight loss and performance.

Gorgeous Skin and Hair

Most people are born with good skin and hair. The sad part is that a lot of them destroy them overtime due to negligence, without putting in the effort to take care of themselves. I come across hundreds of young women looking for desperate solutions to their skin and hair problems and expecting me to wave my magic wand and tackle their issues overnight and transform them. I would love to oblige but the truth is that nature doesn’t bloom overnight. The smallest seed of a plant also needs to be planted, nurtured and cared for before it can blossom and show its magnificence. Though we live in a world of “insta” or instant options, some things cannot be played around with.

With the festive season around the corner – Durga Puja, Karvachauth, Diwali and endless parties and festivities that go with it, the skin and hair need to look healthy and stunning. In this article I have conjured up some INSTA recipes (both magical and natural) that are guaranteed to work and give some fabulous results to dead looking skin and hair. So wake up and imbibe these spells into your festive look.

For dull, oily and combination skin
Massage the skin with iced yoghurt and sprinkle some sugar along with it. Now take orange halves and scrub gently until the granules melt. Wash the face with iced water and see the difference.

For dull, tired and dry skin
Massage the skin with papaya. Then make a scrubby mixing oats and honey along with a little cold milk and scrub the skin. Wash off with ice cold milk and water and pat dry.

Suffering from frizzy hair?
Try this simple, quick and easy-to-make spray. Take slices of two lemon and simmer in two cups of water until it reduces to half the amount. Pour the liquid into a spritz bottle and spray on your hair. Not only will there be a wonderful natural sheen but static and fly away hair will be gone!

For natural hair colour
If you have a brownish tinge in your hair and don’t have the time to henna or colour it, then take a few sprigs of rosemary from the kitchen shelf and simmer them in 2 cups of water along with 2 tsp black tea until it reduces to half the quantity. Mix with 1/4cup of shampoo and every time you shampoo, use this mixture. Leave the shampoo in your hair for about 15 minutes and see the difference it makes.

For a smooth back
Planning to wear a low back blouse, backless dress or choli, but have no time to go in for a body scrub to show off a smooth back? Here’s a quick home remedy. Take 1 cup of sea salt and mix it with half a cup of olive oil. Add 5 drops of sandalwood oil and mix well. Store in a jar and scrub the areas of your body you want to flaunt. Wipe off with a wet towel.

Dealing with under eye bags and dark circles
Take used chamomile tea bags and store them in the freezer. Grate half a cucumber and massage

How to Treat Dry Skin Naturally

Being someone who’s had to suffer with a terrible bout of acne due to my oily skin, I always felt that people with dry skin are happier. It was only later I realized that dry skin comes with its own set of problems like flaking, peeling, leathery look and above all it tends to age much faster than oily or combination skin. If your skin feels stretched and dehydrated then you are definitely a dry skin type which a lot of tender loving care.

Nourishing and moisturising both internally and externally are very important. Creams and moisturisers - all become ineffective when dryness plays up especially during autumn-winter months. So, what can one do to treat dry skin in the most natural way?

Let's start with internal oiling. From sunflower and olive oil to corn and mustard oil, keeping experimenting and use a variety of oil while cooking. Also, ghee or purified butter is a must. Keep a teaspoon of pure ghee handy with your meals. Almond oil is very effective in curing dry skin. Rub about a teaspoon of it onto your navel and pat slowly till the oil is absorbed completely. You could do this before going to be as it also has a calming effect.

For the face, there's one basic rule - moisturise daily. Take Vitamin E oil oralmond oil and massage about a teaspoon on the dry areas. I recently made the most wonderful oil at home that I'd like to share with you. I took 10 frangipani flowers and added them to a cup of almond, wheat germ and olive oil mixed in equal quantities. This concoction was made to sit in a glass jar for a week. Later, I strained it and started massaging it on my skin. Believe me when I say this, it worked like magic and I highly recommend it to those of you who want to get ride of fine lines and wrinkles.

For another natural remedy, take 10 mashed figs and mix it with a handful of walnut paste. Add some milk and apply this to the skin. I use fresh cream when my skin is feeling really leathery and dehydrated and that often happens when winter is setting in and the smog just refuses to lift. Apply it on the skin for about 15 minutes and when soaked into the skin, dab some buttermilk or fresh milk and scrub off. Enjoy baby soft skin in minutes.

Most people I come across are confused about the kind of sunscreen they should use, what SPF it should be and whether it should have a moisturising agent or not. For those who have dry skin, I suggest you chose one which gives moisture, nourishment and hydration to the skin.

You can even make your very own moisturising spray mist at home. Take 100 ml of rose water and add a teaspoon of honey to it. Shake well and spritz all over the face and neck and let the skin drink this up. This helps in toning and moisturising at the same time.

Many fruits contain alpha hydroxyl acids and a wonderful way of giving the skin the nourishment it requires is to use them in face masks. Bananas mashed with honey makes for an xcellent mask.Similarly, mashed avocado mixed with a teaspoon of fresh cream and a few drops of honey is one of the best hydrating masks I have ever made.

Use some apricot jam mixed with a teaspoon milk powder. Massage this into the skin with some water and leave it on for a couple of minutes. Wash your face with cold water and pat dry.

One thing that you must always keep in mind is never to use hot water on the skin. This will make the skin drier. Use luke warm water and splash cold water on the face for reducing dryness and to increase blood circulation. Say goodbye to all your dry skin woes and pamper your skin with natural nourishing ingredients.

The For Beautiful Skin Tips

Pomegranate is known to have originated in Iran and is popularly known as the 'fruit of paradise'. Those juicy, ruby red seeds are considered a symbol of prosperity and fertility in many cultures. In fact, it has been speculated that pomegranates and not apples grew in the Garden of Eden.

Besides its unique tarty taste, pomegranates pack more benefits than what you'd imagine. Studies have shown that it helps in promoting heart health by increasing blood flow and lowering blood pressure. The power of pomegranates lies in its antioxidant activity. Pomegranates are a rich source of three types of antioxidants - tannins, anthocyanins, and ellagic acid. These antioxidants are known for their anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer and anti-geeing properties.

The fruit also helps in repairing, rejuvenating and replenishing your skin inmany ways. From an anti ageing product to imparting a natural glow, here's how you can use the fruit for skin nourishment.

Skin nutrition is essential in tackling one of the biggest causes of aging - free radical damage.
Pomegranates are rightly known as superfoods for their high antioxidant content. According to a 2009 study, pomegranate juice has a higher antioxidant content than acai and blueberry juice.
Not only is pomegranate anti-inflammatory and high in essential fatty acids, it has also been shown to
stimulate Keratinocyte skin cells which help with cellular regeneration.

Dermis, the outer layer of the skin, is made up of collagen and elastic fibers. Wrinkles arise in the dermis as collagen and elastic degrade. Vitamin C is an integral part of collagen formation enabling proteins to become stronger. Just one pomegranate contains about 48 percent of the daily value of Vitamin C. Need we say more?

Pomegranate juice is highly beneficial for the skin. Its small molecular structure helps to penetrate more deeply into the skin to deliver hydration rich in micro nutrients and photochemical. Pomegranate juice helps in recovering dull, dry skin. It is a great source of Vitamin C which is known to reduce roughness when applied on the skin. The crushed seeds of pomegranate are also perfect for exfoliation.

Pomegranate juice improves digestion and increases blood flow which gives your skin a radiant glow. A glass of pomegranate juice daily can give you great results.

Inflammation plays an important role in developing acne. The antioxidants present in pomegranate neutralize free radicals that damage cells and tissues, causing inflammation in the body. The vitamin C content also helps in regulating the production of sebum, an oily secretion which may cause acne.

Did you know that pomegranate can act as a natural sunscreen? The ellagic acid, a poly phenol antioxidant found in large quantities in pomegranates, helps in healing sunburn and is known to reverse sun damage. Scientists have found that the incredible antioxidant activity in pomegranates may reduce the harmful effects of ultra violet radiations and inhibit the growth of skin tumours.

The beautiful Tips for Youthful Skin

Beautiful, radiant and glowing skin is every girl's dream. It's easy to achieve it by avoiding sugar as much as possible and by eating products such as olive oil, avocado and macadamia nut oil. doctor Stefanie Williams shares simple changes to your nutrition intake that will greatly impact your skin, reports female first

1.Cut out the sugar: The less sugar we eat, the better it is. Many natural sweeteners like Honey and agave syrup are high in fructose and should also be avoided as should sugary fruits (tropical fruits are the worst), fruit juice and dried fruit. Artificial sweeteners such as aspartame should be strictly avoided. Not only are they nasty chemical substances, but they have also been connected to obesity and diabetes.

2.Eat more healthy fat: One of the crucial things our body and our skin needs for long-term health is fat. Studies have shown that eating more fat makes our skin more elastic and less wrinkly. The increase in fat consumption has to be done in conjunction with sugar and grain reduction. Monounsaturated fats such as olive oil, avocado and macadamia nut oil are well-known to be good for us.

3.Greatly reduce your grain and starch intake: Most people believe that a diet rich in grains is good for health; whole grains in particular are touted as especially healthy. But starches, the carbohydrates in grains, are simply long strings of sugar molecules and eating them will still make our skin and body age prematurely.

4.Eat lots of vegetables: Vegetables will also provide you with plenty of fibre and antioxidants. However, make sure to cut down on starchy vegetables, as they can have a surprisingly strong effect on our blood sugar level. For example roast parsnips can bring up our blood sugar more than pure table sugar. Good fruit options are berries, as they are relatively low in sugar and high in antioxidants.

5.Don't forget your daily protein: Protein provides important building blocks for our entire body. However, our body has little capacity to store protein. So, to supply our body and skin with all it needs, we have to provide it with sufficient amounts of protein on a daily basis.

6.Spice up your life: Herbs and spices including rosemary, garlic, cur cumin and cinnamon are a great addition to any skin health and longevity eating plan. Not only do spices greatly add flavor and variety of our food, but they also contain bio active substances with positive effects on general health, skin and life span.

Beautiful Without Makeup

Yes, there are actually a plethora of ways to look gorgeous and feel confident sans the makeup. You don't really need to apply mascara and blush before you step out of the house. Of course, we all love experimenting with different shades of lipsticks and eye shadows now and then. Makeup is fun. But it shouldn’t be mandatory. Your daily makeup routine should be motivated by creativity and expression, rather than fear and self-doubt. Considering all products are packed with chemicals and artificial ingredients, it’s nice to go bare once in a while. For days you can’t or don’t wish to wear makeup, we’ve listed fabulous ways for you to look stunning natural.

Skip The Mascara
Curl your eyelashes to make your eyes look wider. If you want longer lashes, you can apply almond oil or coconut oil to your lashes before hitting the sheets every night. You can also brush them in the morning with a coat of Vaseline for that voluminous look

Exfoliation is the Key
At least once a week, exfoliate to remove dead skin cells, leaving your face with that glow you’ve always wanted”, recommends Dr. Rahul Nagar, Dermatologist, Max Hospitals. Never scrub too hard, because it leaves the skin feeling irritated. If you don’t possess an exfoliator, just add granulated sugar to your cleanser and scrub gently to get smooth skin. It works wonders!

H20 Please!
Drink hot water with lemon in the morning to flush out the toxins from your body and leave you feeling hydrated.

Pimple Trouble
The number one rule to dealing with pimples is to stop touching it. Yes, we’re all guilty about this habit but we desperately need to stop picking at pimples or rubbing the forehead. Just let your skin breathe, girls.

The Golden Rule
Every single time you wash your face, follow it up with a moisturiser and a sunscreen before you leave the house. “If you have marks on your skin, mix lacto calamine lotion with your sunscreen. Along with fading away blemishes, it also helps treat acne and dry skin”, suggests Dr. V. P. Kaushik, a Delhi-based Dermatologist. If you are prone to pimples, use a non-oily moisturiser and if you have dry skin, opt for heavier moisturisers containing coconut or shea butter.
Groom Yourself
Perfectly shaped brows frame your face, pull your features into focus and give an instantaneous lift, so don’t neglect them”, advises make-up artist Mrignaina Kumar.

Stick to The Basics
Good skin is the best foundation, so if you decide to go makeup free, stay true to your skincare regime. Cleanse regularly, and spritz with rose water twice a day for that fresh look. Use toner, as it helps restore pH balance of your skin. If you focus on good skin care, you really won’t need makeup.

For that Million Dollar Smile
Exfoliate your lips by gently rubbing a dampened toothbrush and hydrate with a lip balm to get rid of cracked lips. Since a beautiful smile helps your face look young and luminous, make sure you give your lips and teeth the attention they deserve. Brush at least twice a day, and when you have some extra time onyour hands – add baking powder to your toothbrush and brush for whiter teeth. Just like Marilyn Monroe said, “A smile is the best makeup any girl can wear”.

The Quintessential 8 by 8 Rule
Drink 8 glasses of water and sleep 8 hours at night to let the skin repair and restore on its own. Doing so would also keep a check on dark circles. Love yourself enough to live a healthy lifestyle.

Shampoo Time
Shampoo your hair every other day to prevent the hair and skin from becoming greasy. You can also style your hair; straighten, curl, tie it up in a plat or a bun – use your imagination–because if you're having a good hair day, you can handle anything.

Note: Feel confident. Feel beautiful. Because a girl who feels good in her own natural Skin is more beautiful than any girl who wears all the makeup in the world.
Still not convinced to take a makeup free vacation and feel liberated? Luckily for you, we’ve compiled DIY makeup products that are 100% natural and can be made in the comfort of your home. Don’t believe us? Check out these 4 ideas you’ll absolutely adore.

Beetroot Blush On, Anyone?
Yes, it’s true. You can apply this miracle food to your cheeks for that rosy touch. All you need is beetroot, but if your wish to customize the shade - you can add cocoa powder for a darker color and arrowroot powder for a lighter shade. Also, you can add ginger powder for a shimmery finish.
Here’s the recipe for beetroot powder: Boil a few beets, then peel them and cut into thin strips. Now, dehydrate them using an oven at 140 F with the door open. You can also use a dehydrator. After 8-10 hours they will be fully dehydrated, so grind using a food processor and voila. Your DAY blush on is ready!

Bronzer, The Best Friend
What do you need? 1 tbsp cinnamon powder for that glow you’ve always wanted, 1 tsp cocoa powder for bronzing, 1 tsp nutmeg powder for a sun-kissed look, 2 tsp arrowroot powder to lighten it (optional), few drops of lavender or rosemary essential oil to thicken it. Just mix the ingredients in a bowl until.

How to care for the skin during summer

During the summer months my skin can be all over the place... Some days it is oily from the heat and other days it feels dried out (especially in the evenings). The past few weeks Vancouver has been experiencing a heat wave, and it has taken a toll on my skin.
Summer skin is simple: it requires moisture and SPF. Keep your moisture light: look for lecithin, cross-linked hyaluronic acid, cucumber, arnica and aloe, and never leave the house without broad spectrum SPF protection (a minimum of 30 SPF).

Same question for mature skin?

Nothing ages the skin more than sun exposure and dehydration, so you will want to use a high SPF (50 would be ideal) to protect yourself. Exfoliation is a key component of any skincare regime and remains important throughout the summer.

That being said, exfoliation sloughs off dead skin cells and exposes new ones, so exfoliate moderately during the sunnier months. One to two times per week with a chemical exfoliant like lactic or salicylic acid will keep your skin fresh, remove dry flakes and improve your skin's absorption of moisture (never exfoliate sun burnt skin!).
Antioxidant vitamins when applied topically to the skin, block free radical molecules and reduce environmental damage, so find a moisturizer with SPF and Vitamins A, C, E to keep your skin fresh and damage-free.

When the cooler weather returns look for deeper exfoliation treatments like microder mabrasion, peels, IPL and the use of micro-encapsulated Retinol (Vitamin A). But until then, protect yourself from the sun and keep your exfoliation light.
I hear this question all the time and my response is usually the same. What is the "soap" designed for? Is it hand soap, body wash, or a foaming facial cleanser? Products for the face are not just a gimmick; the skin on your face is more sensitive, thinner, and ages the fastest. Irritating and sensitizing ingredients to avoid include: lanolin, SD alcohol, perfumes and dyes.

Traditional soaps are alkaline products and are harmful because they disrupt the naturally acidic PH of your skin. However, the same could be said about many products designed specifically for the face. Look for facial cleansers that do not disrupt your PH levels.

A toner may follow cleansing for further purifying or hydrating benefits, but should not contain SD alcohol (be wary of products that promise to shrink your pore size, they likely contain dehydrating ingredients!) After you have cleansed, apply your serums and moisturizers onto damp skin (which better absorbs moisture). If your favourite moisturizer does not contain an SPF of 30 or higher, apply your sunscreen as a final layer before heading out the door.

What is the shelf life of skin care?

Most products are good up to 12 months after opening. Check product for changes in smell or consistency of product, discontinue use if any irritation occurs from an old product, all SPF products have an expiration date printed on the package and should not be used past this date as SPF protection cannot be guaranteed.
I will be using these tips to keep my skin beautiful this summer. Your suggestions are always welcome, as I continue on my journey to enjoy life to the fullest. Let's have the very best 2015!

Healthy Diet Plan Questions

1. When will you begin your new healthy diet plan?

Note: Choosing the right time and day is vital to your success. Every day possess different energy - and while some are excellent for new beginnings, others will only make it difficult and discourage you to continue your path to a healthy lifestyle.
Lunar calendar is coming up soon to help you choose the right day.

2. Will you do it on your own?

Note: My experience shows that it is better to start a new diet plan alone. Beginning is always difficult and it takes time to gain confidence and skill in what you are doing.

Until you start noticing significant results you may easily get distracted and drop out. And who knows – when will you decide to start over again? So begin alone, build good foundation and then help other to change their lifestyles.

3. What food will you eat?

Note: This is one of the major questions so take your time answering it. Think what you love and what you don’t. Make a list of healthy foods that you know and choose the ones that you like the most. Read my healthy eating tips for help.

4. Do you have unhealthy eating or lifestyle habits?

Note: For example, eating fast food, or smoking. Of course you should try eliminating bad habits, but take your time. If you rush into your new healthy lifestyle and introduce too many radical changes overnight you will be more likely to fail.

Do it gradually – if you eat fast food every day, cut down to 3 times a week for a month, and then to 2 times a week, and so on.

Vitamins and minerals

Today we know thirteen main vitamins. Human body needs very small amounts of them. However, vitamin deficiency as well as overdose may lead to metabolic and hormonal dis balances. It may also affect our growth, development, immune, muscular, nervous and blood systems.

Healthy Eating Tips: It's Dinner time!
I know many women (and some men) who believe that it is healthy not to eat after 6pm.

Food you should try to avoid
Foods that carry the least amount or none of healthy nutrients should be consumed in small quantities or if possible be excluded from a healthy diet altogether.
This includes smoked, cured meats and fish, canned food (except for vegetables), coffee, black tea, soda, including diet soda, candy, sweets, sugar, white rice, bleached flour and mayonnaise.
Of course almost everyone will find something he can’t live without from the above list. And that’s OK.
For example, I love coffee and will not stop drinking it any time soon. However, I only have one cup a day, as oppose to four I had before. And what is more: I drink it black – no sugar, no cream, no donuts :)
If drinking diet coke makes you happy, don’t torture yourself – have it, just limit the quantity. After some time you might even find a better, healthier substitute, but take your time. Unbearable food cravings are more damaging to your health than bad food consumed in reasonable quantities.

Food that makes you healthy
Here is the good news: you still have plenty of delicious healthy food left to choose from. All kind of vegetables, fruits, grains, mushrooms, fish, eggs, beans, grains, lean meats, seafood, low-fat dairy products, nuts, seeds, honey, olive oil and even butter.

Why food that makes a healthy diet should be tasty?
I think that this is one of the most important healthy eating tips. It is crucial that you should like and enjoy what you eat. Scientists proved that our system will reflectively refuse to digest and absorb poor tasting, unpleasant food.
